Julie or Terri will likely be your first contact with our office. They will assist you with appointments and financial matters. Susan and Jackie are dental assistants and will assist Dr. Hoops with your treatment. Heidi and Heather are dental hygienists who help patients maintain excellent dental health.

Dr. Hoops has been practicing dentistry since 1984 and is a graduate of Columbia University. Before starting his own practice in Baileyville, Maine in 1989, he completed a general practice residency at the Montrose, New York VA Hospital, and was an attending dentist at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Hoops attends numerous continuing education classes each year to learn the latest advances in dentistry.

He has been married to his wife Julie for 27 years and they have 3 children, Sally, Bonnie, and Jake. When he is not practicing dentistry Dr. Hoops enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking, golf, and spending time at his camp on West Grand Lake with his family.

Heidi Ryan-Braughton is our full time Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from the University College of Bangor, Maine in 2001 with a Certificate in Dental Assisting and an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. Heidi has been practicing with Dr. Hoops for the past 8 years.

Heather Scott is our part-time Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from the University College of Bangor, Maine in 2006 with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She also is licensed to administer local anesthesia. Heather has been practicing with Dr. Hoops for the last 3 years.

Julie Boies was hired in June of 2008 as a receptionist for Dr Hoops. She replaced a long time employee, who retired in June 2008 after working for Dr Hoops as office manager for over 12 years. Julie has worked in the medical profession as receptionist / billing clerk since 1990.

Terri Wormell started with the practice in December 1997 as a part time filing clerk. She has since then become an expanded duties assistant. She has done a little bit of everything in our office. She is cross-trained in every area from dental assisting to front office. She is now our billing clerk / scheduling coordinator and has put many hours into designing our webpage.

Susan Murphy has been with the practice for 15 years and does most major procedures with Dr Hoops. She is especially good with small children.

Jackie Dean has been with the practice for 8 years and is well versed in infection control procedures.
